Objectives, Milestones, Work Packages

Throughout the project, we investigate and elaborate upon frameworks of democratic action, analysing the various ways in which emotions within these frameworks are structurally embedded in power dynamics, gender roles and local and global contexts.

In CIDAPE, citizen engagement is more than a tool: We understand it as a participatory, democracy-bolstering process, a guiding methodological framework to observe and analyse emotions and a research approach to reflect on democratic politics.

 Milestones

  • Develop a comprehensive plan for analysing the force of political emotions.
  • Establish a framework for observing and shaping political action through and with emotions.
  • Identify links between existing narratives about inequality and climate change.
  • Design guidelines on how to engage citizens in climate action.
  • Generate a participatory-oriented approach to democratic action that is reflexive of emotions.
  • Disseminate the findings and approach developed in the project to maximise their impact.
