Political Emotions in Social Media Communication
WP3 examines citizens' political emotions in digital spaces. WP3 works across platforms, across nations, attending to cultural specificities in the multiple languages. Combining qualitative and quantitative perspectives we will, on the one hand, delve into digital textual debates to explore contested facts, subjective constructions of social reality, as well as the legitimacy of strategies and policies and focus, and will, on the other hand, measure key concepts of the project (emotions, narratives, polarization) by analysing large volumes of digital communication. In close collaboration with WP2 and WP4, drawing on the qualitative tools to study digital communities as well as the text-as-data approaches to study climate polarization, we will elaborate a methodology to trace climate boundaries in digital environments and virtual communities.
