Christina Klubert

Christina is a PhD candidate at the Urban Futures Studio at Utrecht University. She holds a bachelor's degree in Global Sustainability Sciences (Utrecht University) and a master's degree in Conflict Resolution and Governance (University of Amsterdam). Formerly, Christina has worked for Greenpeace, where she became very acquainted with the work of CSOs in the environmental governance arena. Observing polarisation in multi-faceted societies facing complex challenges, she has become interested in understanding the meaning of conflict in times of political change and is keen on rethinking climate politics in more democratic ways. Christina dedicated her MA thesis to the well-noted coal mining conflict in NRW/Germany. Her work questioned the current understanding of energy transitions and emphasised the importance of responding to emotional dynamics and meaning-making in societies in transitions.
