Project Administration and Theory

WP1 provides literature review of the scholarship on the emotional politics of democracy in public policy, political sociology, linguistics, and sociology of emotions. It offers a theoretical ground for other WPs helping at the same time to support practical outputs for policy work and social work in the area of climate and inequality that are further outlined in WP8. WP1 situates the insights from the empirical investigations of other work packages to navigate the connections between them and to identify the common ground in the form of a theoretical framework of the force of political emotions. WP1 organizes a cross-cutting methodological discussion on the role of emotions and emotional situations in qualitative research across all WPs and provides a platform to discuss how to address issues such as bias, positionality, and reflexivity in the data collection process. It offers methodological guidelines to address emotions in various types of textual data.
